# Market Sell

### **Market Sell - Action Overview**

The **Market Sell** action allows users to instantly sell their collateral on a decentralized exchange (DEX), such as **Jupiter**, to pay off an active debt. This is especially useful for users engaged in **Margin Swap** (leveraged trading) who wish to exit their position before the loan term ends, either due to a profitable position or a desire to close the loan early.

**Main Use Case**

The **Market Sell** action is mainly used in [**Margin Swap**](/trade/margin-swap.md) (leverage trading) scenarios. It is ideal when:

* The user has made a profit and wishes to close their position early.
* The user wants to minimize risk and pay off their loan as soon as possible, regardless of the loan term.
* 1% of fees on the swapped amount

This action provides flexibility for users to manage their leveraged positions, avoid potential losses, and maintain better control over their collateralized assets.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://docs.rain.fi/account/dashboard/active-loans/market-sell.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
